Tremor is a module to test the prowess of the future civil engineer in building earthquake resistant buildings. It is basically a plunge into testing the practical knowledge of the participants in the preliminary topics of structural design. It aims to let a participant have a taste of what the teachers never taught you in class or in your lab. We learnt it in our geology class that the northeastern part of India is in the Zone 5 of the seismic regions which testifies the potential risk of the possibility of high intensity earthquakes. So Tremor stands for what we didn’t learn or didn’t try to learn – the solution which lies in constructing earthquake resistant buildings.
